Sacred springs Manzhyly-Ata

The area of ​​Manzhyly-Ata is a sacred natural place of pilgrimage, people come here from all over Kyrgyzstan and a ritual of sacrifice and reading of prayers is held with the request of offspring, health and well-being. Moit-Ake, a sage and spiritual leader of the Issyk-Kul Kyrgyz of the 18th century, is buried in Manzhyly-Ata. Sensing his death, he went out on the last hunt along the southern coast of Issyk-Kul, announcing that his golden eagle would indicate the place of his future grave. The hunt ended in the holy place of Manzhyly-Ata and Moyt-ake, bequeathed to his relatives to bury himself in Manzhyly-Ata and henceforth suspend the tradition of burying relatives in the holy places of the Fergana Valley. People of the older generation said that the keepers of the sacred natural place of Maanzhyly-Ata were the White Camel and the Birds of Prey, and if anyone saw them in a dream, they would bring him prosperity and protect him from misfortunes.

The valley is a whole labyrinth of shallow gorges between clayey steppe hills, from which many springs flow. Each spring is considered curative. In the Manzhyly gorge, 8 sacred willows grow, at the base of which there are 12 main and 5 additional healing springs.

The caretaker shows the way to the springs, but you can find it yourself, as lonely willows grow next to them.Water comes out of the ground and seeps into it again. Each spring has its own name, specific taste and cure for various diseases.

1st source “Manzhyly-Ata”. Heals diseases of the blood, cardiovascular system, crushes and removes stones from the kidneys and liver, rejuvenates and prolongs life.
