Covid-19: Rules for entering Kyrgyzstan

Before entering the country, regardless of vaccination status, a document certifying receipt of a vaccine against coronavirus COVID-19 (in paper or digital format) OR a proof of a negative PCR test, taken in the previous 72 hours, is required on arrival. The test periods are counted from the moment the analysis was taken, and not when the finished result was obtained. Tests are accepted in paper form in one of three languages: Kyrgyz, Russian or English.

Children under 5 years of age are exempted from the PCR test. Those who are already 5 years old (counting the day of entry) will need to have above mentioned medical documents.

In the event of the expiration of the established period of validity of the PCR test results (72 hours) due to unforeseen circumstances or reasons related to the duration of the air flight, citizens of foreign countries will be required to undergo a PCR test at the place of arrival at the airports of the country.

PCR test can be taken at the Manas airport on the first floor in the Amsbio lab 24/7.

Urgent PCR test (result 1.5-2 hours after sampling) – 42 USD.

PCR with a result 5 hours after sampling – 29 USD.

Standard PCR test (result within 24 hours after sampling) – 20 USD.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development has so far recognized vaccination certificates issued in 20 countries: UK, Hungary, Qatar, Israel, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Korea, Poland, San Marino, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Romania, USA, Turkey, Germany, France, Switzerland, as well as certificates issued by the European Union – the Medical Service of the Association in Brussels.

To enter the country, all citizens, including children of any age, are recommended to have an insurance policy that also covers COVID-19.

There is no mandatory quarantine in Kyrgyzstan. Upon arrival, the temperature may be checked and, if the traveller shows symptoms of the coronavirus, he/she may be taken to a public health facility for examination or required to remain in quarantine at home or in a hotel.

Even though Kyrgyzstan has reopened its borders with neighbouring states, we recommend that you double-check the entry rules for the country you plan to cross the border with. The land border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan remains closed indefinitely. When departing, tourists must follow the rules of the country of arrival.
