The valley around the lake has been and remains a place of summer grazing for many centuries. Summer pastures and clear cold water of the lake attract fans of pristine nature. Despite the sparse representation of fauna and flora, Son Kul is interesting for ornithologists who study the behavior of animals and birds with seasonal migration. Son Kul can be reached by four roads:
– Through Sary-Bulak in the northeast.
– Through the serpentine road in the southeast
– Through Ak-Tal in the southwest
– Through the Kara-Keche coal mines in the northwest
